Since June 30, 2011, MacDonald & Owen has been certified for Forest Stewardship Council™ chain-of-custody! FSC is an organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. We at MacDonald & Owen have implemented our best efforts to avoid trading and sourcing wood or wood fiber from the 5 categories considered unacceptable to be mixed with FSC certified wood:

1. Illegally harvested wood 2. Wood harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights 3. Wood harvested in forests where high conservation values are threatened by management activities. 4. Wood harvested in forests being converted to plantations or non-forest use 5. Wood from forests in which genetically modified trees are planted
